Urgo Medical is a French company within the family-owned URGO Group, specializing in advanced wound healing. Its mission is to support healthcare professionals with science-based solutions to improve patients’ lives. With several hundred dedicated employees, the company places the patient at the center of its efforts and develops innovative technologies dedicated to wound healing.
The Genesis project is a major scientific initiative by Urgo aimed at creating artificial skin to treat severe wounds, particularly in patients with severe burns. This innovation aims to offer an alternative to autologous skin grafts, reducing patient suffering, hospital stays, and treatment costs. To meet this challenge, Urgo is collaborating with several leading partners, including AFM-Téléthon, the French Blood Establishment, Dassault Systèmes, and the LBTI, all of whom have come together to form a dedicated consortium.
