Pitch 2 - OCTOCELLS

Description
OctoCells develops CellSpace HA™, a 3D crosslinked hyaluronic acid matrix enabling solid-phase cell culture. Unlike conventional liquid suspension processes, the HA matrix decouples proliferation from cell death, allowing cells to proliferate and secrete simultaneously. The matrix demonstrates exceptional long-term stability (over 5 months), dramatically reducing reseeding costs and enabling extended continuous cultures that are simply unachievable with standard processes.
CellSpace HA™ is available in multiple formats adapted to different scales and applications: solid bioscaffold in flask and Erlenmeyer format for small-scale production and personalised medicine (patient-specific), and HA microcarriers compatible with bioreactors for industrial-scale manufacturing. This modularity bridges a unique continuum from single-patient doses in personalised medicine to large-scale production using the same protocol throughout scale-up.
Experimental results, validated in collaboration with CHU Rouen, demonstrate significant performance vs. conventional processes: ≥12× monoclonal antibody yield, 25× cell expansion, −80% cost per unit and −83% nutrient consumption.
In parallel, OctoCells is developing an AI digital twin under construction in partnership with Dassault Systèmes' 3DExperience Lab, aimed at predicting yields and de-risking the scale-up phase.
OctoCells addresses multiple bioproduction verticals: therapeutic antibodies, personalised cell therapies, extracellular vesicles, bioactives ingrdients and organoids. The company is supported by BPI France (Deeptech), the University of Rouen and Dassault Systèmes' 3DExperience Lab.
OctoCells is currently raising a €1M Seed Round and actively seeking strategic partners across the bioproduction value chain.
