Reducing release timelines is not only about speeding up manufacturing, but also about removing QC bottlenecks while maintaining regulatory compliance. Rapid testing can be a powerful lever, if used wisely.
In this workshop, we will walk through where rapid methods can fit across the CHO manufacturing process, from cell line characterization through bulk harvest testing. We will review case studies using rapid molecular and NGS-based technologies to discuss the considerations and impact of these approaches compared to more traditional methods.
What we’ll cover
• Where rapid testing creates the most impact across the manufacturing process (and where it doesn’t)
• Adoption requirements: what data is typically expected from a regulatory standpoint to support implementation with confidence
• How regulatory expectations and day-to-day operational change management can enable or block adoption
Participants will be invited to
• Identify which tests are on the critical path for product release
• Uncover which roadblocks prevent them from moving to rapid methods (data requirements, comparability, regulatory expectations, cost, operational change, etc.)
• Lessons learned session: share positive and challenging experiences linked to rapid approaches
• Explore where rapid methods could add value earlier in the project lifecycle (e.g., during characterization) rather than only at release
By the end, participants should be empowered on how and when to apply rapid testing based on CHO case studies. You’ll leave with a practical way to decide which rapid test fits which situation.
